Mom’s hearing is slowly going. It explains a lot of things: the fact that Chinese soap operas are on volume 11, her saying that “I sound like ants speaking” whenever I’m on the phone with her. Getting a hearing aid for her is on “the list,” along with about a hundred and fifty other things. The big one is taking her to the hospital two towns over to get more tests done.
I'm a huge admirer of your writing for almost two decades now. (Is that possible ?!? Jesus, Mary and Joseph!) You're so good at setting the scene that it feels like I'm watching this dinner on CCTV.
ALL the best to your family. First son in an Asian family... it's tough work.

Good luck, Ernie... all us Blogger folks are hitting the age where our parents start to fall apart at the same time, oh joy!
Thanks for sharing with us, Ernie. Hopefully sharing makes it a bit easier to process. Sending love!
Here with you. Hopefully it gets easier.
Yeah... hard to say how to view this. I just wish it weren't such a burden on you.
